Todd, sorry to hear about all the problems you've had. It certainly sounds like mistakes were made that shouldn't have been. I am surprised to hear what you've said about Felix, and I have to say my dealings with him have been the polar opposite of yours. He has always been thorough, prompt and cordial when dealing with me. I have never had anything but professional service from anyone at First Texas. I won't go into the names again, but several of their employees have definitely gone above and beyond the call of duty to help me.
After following the play-by-play for several weeks now, I won't dispute that you have some legitimate issues. Had more care been taken at First Texas to keep the regular F75 control boxes separated from the LTDs (or had they been designed with some sort of obvious cosmetic difference), this never would have escalated like this.
But in some ways I think you've played this into more of a drama than it should have been. I understand the squeaky wheel gets the grease. But the seldom heard second part of the saying is when the squeak doesn't go away, discard the wheel.
I can't help thinking that a little more patience on your part, and a lot less venting on this forum, might have served you better.
First Texas trusted you and overnighted you the LTD before you sent the regular F75 back. I don't understand why you were so obsessed with getting the second F75 back to them when you had the third (and correct) detector in good working order in your hands. I'm an honest person, but I would have said when they get me the prepaid label they promised to send, I'll ship it back. At this point of your story, it really seems like you are just piling on another complaint because you're angry and want to further punish the company by continuing on when the problem has now been resolved.
To repeat what others have said,
to Mike Scott for jumping into the fray and for leading the detecting industry in being proactive on the forums.
