The XP Deus . . . . . 2016 Software & Accessories - An Update

Question for Andy on new Deus coils. I assume these new Deus coils will BOTH be "Double D's" and NOT have Concentric electromagnetic fields. Is this true, if you know?? Kidcentavo

Yes, they are both DD coils . . . . . . modified windings but DD design

Andy

I'm particularly interested in FIVE things with the release of v4.0 (copied and pasted from earlier in the thread):

• Refined control of Reactivity through the addition of a “2.5” setting offering enhanced target separation with less impact on detection depth
• Enhanced iron identification so one digs less big rusted iron that had sounded good
• Expanded tone range – now ranging from 100HZ to 1,000HZ
• Enhanced ground tracking capabilities which makes Tracking an option for even experienced hunters
• Improved ground compensation when searching highly mineralized ground

Curb strip hunting should be "crisper" here with Reactivity 2.5 since we have highly mineralized soil PLUS the frequent salting of the roads in the winter months. When I first moved here I hunted some curb strips and many of the coins including silver were severely corroded. Many of the signals were "smeared" due to the salt/minerals/etc but not enough to where I wouldn't dig!

Deep non-ferrous vs ferrous identification - who wouldn't want that? :clapping:

Expanding the tones to 1000Hz while using 4kHz will further separate iron/nickel/aluminum/copper/silver targets - so more info on targets without glancing at the screen saves time....

The last two enhancements only further clarify those iffy hits in our bad ground....

Andy....Since you've hunted with v4.0 I had a question...Did you use the new coils or did you update one of the older coils with 4.0 software and THEN go hunt?

Thanks Andy. Living in Virginia and having to deal with the"Red Dirt" iron belt region I can't wait for the coil and enhanced Gold Field! Regards

Slap a coil cover on it?

Provided you can find a 3rd party coil cover. XP's aren't solid. And that will help but not eliminate snagging stuff from above. I'm not a huge woods hunter (super allergic to poison ivy) but I know that this is an ideal sized coil for that.

YES

OH YES, I dig a LOT of rusty nails

Meh, not as interested in this personally.

Hoping Tracking doesn't null out targets in trash like it does now. I'd rather lave it on Tracking then have to switch to Manual after Tracking reads the ground.

Yes please.

Deus could really use better ID at depth, the CTX crushes it in this regard.

I believe that to be incorrect.
According to the original info the new probe has no discrimination but an adjustable/selectable tone feature where it's a beepbeep/buzzbuzz/dingding/ringring type choice which comes through the headphones but not the same tone as you are getting through the main coil. Seems like kissing your sister to me but that was my understanding,,,maybe that's what they decided to change with their re-do.

I think alot have been asking:
Will the new pinpointer discriminate and use the same sounds as the detector coil signal??
When you say it's like a sunray Coil, I think everyone is expecting the same affect.

I think the only ways it will be like the Sunray is that it is heard through the headphones , turns the coil's sound off and is expensive.

· Sound mode : Pitch or Bleep

Hi Andy... We all know you know whats going on... Is it because Minelab is suing Deus? What is the holdup? Why are these upgrades not out? Thanks
