There Seems To Have Been an F19 Turn-Around

When the unit was first announced, the consensus was that FT just re-packaged a GBP and that the F19 offered nothing new. Now most folks seem to be singing its praises. Why the turn-arount in sentiment? What new capabilities did the F19 bring to the table?

I've seen a couple of posts that seem to indicate that the F 19 might be a tad deeper. Most importantly, though, is a few have gotten into the right hands, hands that have been willing to take the time and learn them and ultimately we are seeing the learning success. IMHO, anyway. Happy New Year, all. HH jim tn

Berryman, Jim tn isn't talking about you.

I think there was some quality issues with the first units that were released. this had everyone giving bad reviews. After Fisher corrected this , the new units are where they need to be for performance. I also think they may have used some of the technology for the quiet running F75 on the F19 as well.

There still seems to be some units that are hotter than others. Just need to try them out or be lucky

The biggest market political bug pro by far is Africa. I believe you have 19 is fishers answer to Chinese pirated copies of the goldbug appearing in the marketplace. The camouflage paint job is a clever way to shout this is genuine it's not one of those crap Chinese copies! They have made some changes to how it operates making it more effective as a gold detector and making it easier to market in Europe as a relic detector. I also understand that internal changes have been made to make it easier in there for cheaper to produce.

All of this is the kind of progress in design and marketing that is the hallmark of successful companies in any industry. I'm pretty sure that first Texas product sells more metal detectors and any company in the world, and I'm also pretty sure that they are by far their biggest market for gold detectors at least is in Africa. The market there is for detectors which will find gold nuggets even if they're mixed up with a bunch of Ferrous trash. Once nuggets are found a swarm of folks show up with picks and shovels and buckets and pans and find all the nuggets.

It's no secret that first Texas is working on a new killer gold detector probably employing some entirely new technology. My personal best however is that it will be extremely easy to use - again because folks who are digging in the dirt looking for gold 12 hours a day really can't be bothered with twiddling dials and pushing buttons
