thermal images from sats ?

anyone have any info on a way to veiw places on earth with thermal imageing from space.
i ask cause i know thats how old rock foundations and old prehistoric temples and things are being located. it would be nice to use that same thing to search for old home places that are lost in woods and other places.

That wasn't thermal it was LIDAR , or so I thought.....we were recently discussing this on another forum, it's unbelievable how much detail can be seen...check out the link below.

As far as seeing this kind of imaging for your area, I doubt you'll find it.

I wonder if they can do digital infrared in addition to forward looking infrared and ultraviolet light photography from these sats?
