Thinking about getting an E-Trac

Hi All

I've been thinking about getting an E-Trac for a while now. Just wondering about recovery time false iron signals etc. I recently acquired (my brothers old machine = loaner) a Quattro and have found it difficult to separate the good from the bad. I did a test yesterday at a house lot I've been working and buried a quarter at 6". There was iron in the vicinity. I couldn't get a solid digable signal on this coin. I've also had some trouble with false coin signals and phantom signals that have good tone and positive #'s (36-39). The only work around here is these signals don't pinpoint where they sound best.

So my question is will the E do better in this type of situation ie target separation etc compared to the big Q?

The Minelab E-Trac is a much more stable machine. The auto sensitivity really helps with the falsing. There is nothing out better for deep silver that the E-Trac. Except maybe a Minelab SE Pro! lol

Here is what I found a few weeks back, it was surrounded in iron and I could still hear the coin in there....If that doesn't make up your mind I dont know what will..HH

The Minelab E-Trac is a much more stable machine. The auto sensitivity really helps with the falsing. There is nothing out better for deep silver that the E-Trac. Except maybe a Minelab SE Pro! lol

Or a Sovereign GT.
 
I would strongly suggest the E-Trac....I've pulled a lot of coins and relics from iron infested areas. The TTF program works well in these places, but I've also used the standard conductive tones as well.

@ Critterhunter----I'm just going to say what the rest of us are thinking. Quit trolling our boards with your Sovereign talk. Every other post you make is about how great the Sovereign is. That's fine if you like it, but we don't use it.....and don't want to use it. Troll elsewhere please...and thanks. Your rhetoric just gets old....if you don't have anything to say about the E-Trac...say it on the Sovereign board.
 
Thanks for the feed back. I've watched a lot of video on the E-trac and it looks great. I also realize it's not a Quattro but just had to ask:wave: Like any machine you have to work through the learning curve

Just thought if it was OK to mention an SE Pro in the Etrac forum then there shouldn't be any problem throwing in a suggestion of another Minelab that is also great on deep silver. Didn't mean to cause a problem. Just a suggestion. Peace. :thumbup:
 
i have used other detectors for about 25 years ors so off and on i just got my e trac about a month ago i am loving it i can safly say it has done nothing short of wonders for me some of the spots i hunt have been pouned for years and yet i have pulled out barbers seated and standing libertys in the las t few weeks not to mention several wheats and a few indians am more than pleased with the e trac dennis
 
The ET is far better than the Quattro or Safari and at least 20% better than the Explorer SE , Not about depth as much as target id and discrim capability . And a lot of programmes that you can suit and change to your own requirements.

E.Trac = USS Nimitz class , Quattro = old USS Midway class carriers

Thats the only way i can put it.
