This coin is not in the best condition due to the salt water that it was recovered from , but it's a valuable "oldie " to me...

Hunted for 1 1/2 hrs. at low tide yesterday. It was a lucky day for me.

Found my first 2 cent coin ...1864, which unfortunately is very pitted from the ocean...but I was pleased to find it.

Unable to determine if it is the rarer "small motto" or the less rare "large motto" ....letters unclear.

Also found a "44 "merc", and an antique( I think ) barrette

Also found the two rings 14 K with diamonds & Victorian Era "Mourning " ring 10 K.

Thanks for looking .

I can't seem to see the "WE", Fred, but I can see the "D" of "GOD"..and it appears to be wide; I'm trying to find that stem ..and also the "T" of "TRUST"

I need to clean this coin to maybe see it clearer...any idea on how I should proceed with a light cleaning? I don't want to ruin it anymore than it already is.

Thanks for any help you can offer to me.

Nah, not always...most of the time I come home with less than $2.00 in clads....but sometimes I get lucky...the tide is just right...the winds are in the right direction, and I'm in the right spot at the right time.
