has a tough glove on and pets it from head down. I noticed a bunch of quills seemed to be missing on the back.

I just never expected it to be so dang playful! Like a puppy :D

tho i never really cared for them when i had 'em.
I spent a couple o' hours with a porcupine once.
I was turkey huntin and it came over and sat on the log i was on.
It stayed there for a few hours about 3 foot from me.
When the wind changed noticably it took a wiff and lit out.

I know that they can be 'dequilled', if ya will.
( You can see hers was)
You gotta wrap 'em in an old blanket occasionaly
and that collects any available quils.

My smartazz, or should i say dumbazz,( he was both)
brother in law once grabbed one that was tryin to stay clear of us
up in the mountinas once.
He snatched a quil out of it and then commenced to take that quil
and stick himself in the palm of his hand with it.
( did i meantion that he was a DUMBAZZ? )

WRONG THING TO DO !!!!

It wasn't long before he was in the ER
with his hand twice its size havin' that
quil hook surgicaly removed.

I spose some folks think they are ok pets.
Me? I'll maintain my healthy respect for 'em.

Mmm...wonder how much damage that thing has done
to the wood in that gals house?

I don't think i'd be wantin to play with a critter with rodent type teeth that big tho.

They would be easy to pull I imagine or just singe them. It seems that would get rid of the barbs. That one did look like it has pretty soft hair. It sure was playful, which surprised me
