Went back to a big field that I, and a couple of buddies on occasion, have been hunting now for a month or so.. Over all, it has been a nice silver yielding spot along with pretty good numbers of wheat cents, clad and the occasional other goodie. This morning, though, was one of those outings that after two hours of re-hunting a couple of area's, had all the ear marks of being little more then getting some fresh air kind of an outing. All I had in my pouch was 1 nickel, 1 high tone Memorial cent and a few items of trash. Consequently, I decided to get a little earlier jump on my yard work and started briskly walking and swinging my way towards my vehicle. As I was approaching a shallow ditch that has a culvert in one spot, I began to slow down a little and work an area just off one side of the culvert. This is an area where we (I) frequently began our searching as we (I) start to hunt my way out onto the field. As I was working my way along the upper portion of the ditch I dug a fairly deep, green wheat cent. A few feet further along I got a really nice quarter reading and from about 5" deep recovered a 53d Washington quarter. About two feet further along I dug another wheat cent and that was promptly followed by a 7" deep 60d Washington quarter. I called it a wrap after another 20 minutes of searching around the area,
but it sure makes one wonder. F 75 LTD, 11dd coil, sen 90, 4 disc, b p mode, 3h tones and g b of 65-68. HH jim tn
