This was the Ocean resort beach i used to hunt Fire Island 18 foot cut !!!

I thought i would show the Ocean beach a small example of what Sandy did your looking at the back end of parking lot 3 Fire Island you can see all !!! the sand has been wiped off the beach just hard pack left 18 to 20 feet of sand gone they say the waves were around 47 feet high they almost breached the road where the 12 storie water tower is you can see in photo also the Coast Guard radio antenna you would need to slide on your butt from the road to get 18 feet down to the beach LOL , a few people might go today to swing a coil on the hard pack i might go also and see what happens it is a couple 100 yards to the water from where that photo was takin . Jim I use to live in Long Beach grew up there. I know exactly where that is not far from my home town. now I'm in FL. I miss Long Beach was a great place. I wonder what it really looks like now.

May not produce anything, wiped out the complete history of the beach with that 18 foot cut, Is BarryNY Ok?

. I called Barry a week ago and got no reply ill keep trying , your right about the beach completly wiped out what ever was buried deep got washed back out like a giant broom most of the beaches are still off limits . Jim

Hi Barry access is closed now that is a news photo local paper takin 2 days later i wish i could get over the bridges . Glad to hear your ok , now we got a Nor-Easter today to deal with . Jim
