Here's my weekends finds. Not much but I had fun. First a little story... The Three Rosies. About two years ago I stumbled upon a school that was built around 1940 but no longer in use.It looked like a very promising site. At that time I had an EXPII with a 12 inch coil.I searched this place three or four times and all I could come up with was a wheat or tw
ne evening while I was hunting a car pulls up and a tall fellow gets out. He's wearing a tee shirt with the words State Police on the front.I'm thinking here we go until I here him say..find anything good? Then he asks if I would mind if he joined me and of course I said why not.Well as it turned out he was the President of a local club.We hunted for about one hour until it started getting dark so we headed for the cars where we talked a bit.He then tells me that this place had been hunted pretty hard for quite some time I then asked him if there might be any silver left and he said maybe but good luck finding it.
Ok now flash forward. I'm driving back from a job site when I run out of gas...Darn. So here I am beside the road with a dead car and I'm right in front of the old school.I've got to wait for AAA.What should I do to kill time.Yes I've got the SE with me so what the hey. I walk over to a clump of trees by a crumbling walk way that I must have gone over 10 times before.I start swinging the coil and beep beep I get a good signal.Alum. I stand up take two steps and swing again beep beep eight inches later and I'm lookin at a 52 rosie..hum.I stand up take two steps swing again..beep beep..6 inches later and I'm lookin at a 46 rosie. I then see the AAA guy coming so it's time to go.I went back the next morning and found a 53 rosie.I don't know what the lesson is other than I guess a site will always have a surprise waiting if you just give it one more go.
