Threshold Tone?

Does adjusting the threshold tone only affect the threshold hum?
To me it seem to affect the target sound also.
I hunt in ferrous sounds. with TH tone set at max

You are right, it affects target sounds too. I also prefer threshold maxed for that High silver tone.

LARRY-----We sure agree on that one!!----I have always set up with threshold maxed for that high silver tone--love it. For the kind of hunting I do--it can't be beat.----Don't know if everyone would agree with us though--some people think it makes the Explorer "too squeally".-----Del

I'll have to give that a try good I'deal guys ....I dont get out there to much but will try that for sure next time I go detecting. Thanks Hobby

As the others mentioned it most definitely effects the target tone. I just learned that from Mattockman not long ago and it has helped me tremendously. Since I have hearing loss, I waved a silver quarter in front of the coil (or probe) and adjusted the tone up and done for what made it jump out the most. For me 8 and 9, but more 9, worked the best. Silver and copper "sing" to me now.
