Time for new model?

Would like to see a New "Pro Pack". 705 with the 11" Pro coil like on the FBS machines.............MO
Something like this is much more likely. We already have seen the addition of the new dual coil pack.
Other than coil option packages, I wouldn't be holding my breath for any "new" model to emerge in the Xterra line. We'll most likely see a cheaper FBS2 machine next, and if that's the case I'll be in line to get one. My Explorer can be replaced by a newer unit, but the 705 is staying put.

Got that right, My 705 is not going anywhere!! This one is the 3rd one I've had, just because I just HAD to try something new!!! Never again...........Mark

Should have been waterproof. How about that. Waterproof headphones are not hard to come by. People are waterproofing detectors with a otter box, yet manufacturers are lacking this on even mid level detectors. Just sayin

There is always room for improvement. Offering more waterproof coils for one, including an 1/8" earphone jack, adding a signal boost feature, relocating the coil plug and earphone jack to the bottom of the control head would make it easier to weatherize.

There are lots of waterproof coils , just not aloud on here. Minelab should make more too.

There are already 8 authorized waterproof coils available. HOW MANY MORE DO YOU NEED???!!!

The ones that are supplied by Detech or Minelab are either too big , to small or concentric .
Cant say about the other types but I do have one and It is deeper than the 10.5 in dd 7.5khts for a similar size.
In fact I sold the 10.5 in in favour of the new one which will be enough for me for now.

Sounds like Goldylocks syndrome.
Too big, too small, too soft, too hard.....some people just can't be satisfied.

I have though with this coil.

Detech does not make coils for the X-TERRA.

It is Coiltek. And, you can help it. You just don't chose to. One more time, for the record......We can discuss Coiltek X-TERRA coils because Coiltek went through the rigorous engineering process to become licensed to manufacture coils for the X-TERRA. We can also mention them because they are one of the sponsors who help provide a forum to share information about the X-TERRA. If the company you keep referring to had gone through the process of becoming legally licensed to manufacture Minelab coils, and if they were willing to help support this forum, we could have an honest and sincere discussion "in the open" and you could stop telling us all how you aren't allowed to mention them. Until that time, we just keep playing this little "cat and mouse game" of you referencing a company that you have been told repeatedly not to mention. It is unfortunate that so much time is wasted on continuing to address this topic, when there are more interesting things we could be doing.

Amen! I couldn't have put it better.

This thread is SUPPOSED to be about detectors, not illegitimate accessories.
