Hello All,
Finally had a chance to get out this weekend. Had a couple of first. Hit a Church and found a '72 Kennedy Half, rang up a 38-39 at about 8-9 inches. Found 5 watches there as well. That was weird!!
Then hit a couple of houses in my neighborhood and pulled out 2 mercs (37-3:geek: and 1 silver quarter (38-39) then a silver rosie (37-3:geek:. Had a quarter that was really toasted looking, thinking it was a clad quarter I stuck it in my pouch and moved on. When I looked at it later at my house I noticed that it looked a little odd. After closer inspection I couldn't believe my eyes...a Standing Liberty Quarter!!! It is in really bad shape, no date, but I'll take it. One of the coins I really wanted to find.
8 wheaties for icing on the cake!!!
Thanks for looking,
HH

:usaflag:Wow...toasted is an understatement. I've never seen a silver coin hurt that bad....kinda hurts a little. Nice finds anyways.

Hey Dave and Swinger, It was a double edged sword! I was so glad I found my first SLQ, but I was saddened by its condition. All the clad I found in that soil were in pretty bad shape as well. Not sure what caused it. It was very rich black soil, maybe years of fertilizer?
Thanks for looking,
