Today,s temp got way up to 38 degrees here in Dunkirk,In and since the snow melted off yesterday I said to
myself you better get out while you can and go detecting: So I had about a hour before
dark to hunt. 1st and 2nd signals was junk. I thought well I dont have much time so I,ll
consentrate on the high numbers. I finally got a 12 fe 45-46 co about 7" dug a big mucky plug
out and dug down a little further and out popped a 46 rosie. It was almost dark and got a 8-9 fe 47co
at 10" I was thinkin possible half dollar but at 10" I got a disk the size of a half and had a mans face on it.
When I got home and cleaned it I saw it was an old trade token from Stewart Brothers furniture in Dunkirk
from way back years ago.
Also from a hunt 2 wks ago at an old house I got a 39 merc and 9 wheaties,also 2 1941 nickles 1 plain 1 s in
the same hole and several other clad coins.
Thanks for lookin. HH

Nice finds !!! love tokens....

Very nice variety of coins, congratulations on a good hunt. That token is cool, there is just something about finding those old tokens, really neat.

What a great hunt you had, Congrats!

Banditicey:
The Stewart brothers furniture store was around for many years and sold furniture from around 1900 to 1990 something.
1st time I remember buying furniture, carpets there was in the late 60,s and my dad bought from them in the early 50,s.
The old 2 story brick building that they built is still standing empty with there name at the top and takes up about a
half a block right on Main street. The token is the 1st one I,ve seen. I forgot to mention that I found it at the old high
school grounds in town,(school not there anymore)
If I find out any more info I,ll let you know.
HH  Jim
