Went to a local park today to try to get in a hunt before the rain hit, which it held off till about 5 pm so I got in a good hunt. I was determined to get some nickels or gold today and I dug a million pull tabs and some can slaw trying to make it happen. Ended up with 2 quarters, 3 dimes, 5 copper pennies and the 1 zinc cent. I only dug the high tones I came across when searching for the elusive gold. The zinc cent I dug on the way back to the truck. It sounded "bigger" than the normal zinc cent so I was thinking maybe something different but it was just the corrosion on the penny. The Ring... The HUGE, MASSIVE SIZE OF A QUARTER GOLD RING was a sight find laying on the ground, but that suits me just fine. Swung the coil over it to see what it would show up as and compared it to the readings I had been getting. I noticed something a little different with the NELS coil regarding pull tabs but will wait till I use it a little more before I come to any conclusions. Spent the last 2 hours of the hunt with my other detector playing in the shallow water. Results in the DetectorPro forum. Thanks for looking and HH everyone!
