congratulations on a really nice find! hey anything could be buried out there. i have found two spanish silver coins, the first one i found im pretty sure was not dropped during its circulation era. id guess it was dropped by someone in the 50's in a backyard. it was only a couple inches deep. anything is possible but it just doesnt seem like it sat there for 200 years. the other one i found did seem to be dropped a long time ago. just going by feel.

This could have been dropped....during the 1800"s.....this park is right in line from where you would get off the boat( in downtown Sac)......go to Sutter"s fort....trade some stuff to get your gold mining gear....hop on your horse or wagon and head up to the hills!!!...Can"t you just close your eye"s and think about how it must have been to get off a ship....(more that likely from San Francisco)....To look at where downtown old Sacramento is now.....gather up all your stuff you could carry (I hear that people on little boats , just left them there) more that likely walk to Sutter"s fort. To go in(with all that you could carry)walk around trying to barder for all the supplies and food that you could carry! Then to leave with all your supplies(cross over where this park is and drop this coin!!!) headed up to the gold country!............I tell you ....there must have been some gutsy guys back then!!!!

very bold for sure no doubt. just think, us treasure hunters definitely share a kinship with them gold miners....although i consider myself a silver/copper "miner" i suppose. and not taking tooooo much risk:detecting:

hey people got around and the things they carried, Amazing
