Todays Finds War Nickle 011516

Went to Vacant Lot today that the Owner said had been Detected before. In fact she said she had chased off some other Detecters. I know there was an old House there years ago but it did not look like there had ever been much going on there. I already posted about a couple finds there myself. The Owner specifically wanted to know what was found. Today I found two Wheat Pennies. One 1919, leading me to believe the prior 1919 I found came from here. I also found a 1927D Wheat. Both Pennies were in great shape. My very first find was a very good one a 1944P War Nickle. For you Etrac users, I did look at the reading before the extraction and after. The first reading was 12-14 in the ground and 12-15 Air test. Not sure how I am getting all these Nickles unless the prior detectors just did not detect them very well. I did notice that the Wheat Pennies did not give clear cut signals before I dug them. Most likely Masked by Trash or on end. My likely most valuable find was a Trade Token, 15 cents off a Pound Folgers Coffee. This is proving very hard to clean and will need to be tumbled. I also found a Shell President's Token that I originally thought was a Quarter and a Whatisit.

Very cool. I like the Orphan Annie Decoder. Have a few of those myself. Congrats! Goes to show how treating property owners properly and obtaining permission can repair bad feelings other less ethical detectorists have caused.

Thanks I did not know what that was.
