Todays hunt :) new oldest coin

Second trip to a piblic area.... Two hours or so, dug lots of pull tabs and aluminum scraps....

The locket sounded just like a zinc penny and i almost moved on w/o digging... Dont think it has any value but still fun

The Indian head is my oldest coin to date, so I'm pretty happy. Its 1882 ..... I looked up some tricks on cleaning and gave it a quick once over for the pic... Still needs some more cleaning though. I though it was just a wheat penny when i found it :)

So all in all a good morning

We usually leave the green patina on the cents, removal leaves the coin brown and washed out looking. Good hunt.

Looks as though you had a great hunt outing. Congratulations on the Indian. Love those green Indians. HH, Nancy

Congratulations on the IH Greg, she is a beauty. IH's read about 6 numbers lower than a zinc on my detector but I don't remember how they do on the Deus. Should be pretty easy to test it though.

Thanks! I'm being very careful just olive oil and soft brush.... I want to keep the green too.... Just trying to knock the crusty stuff off it! Havent gotten it much better that shown so i stopped trying to get it cleaner :)

It rang in the mid 80s if i recall correctly....i was trying to focus more on the sound than the number
