Todays hunt yields a couple of goodies

Another trip out this afternoon using G-Maxx and had a good time, depth is still a problem in my ground, 7 inches is really stretching it in 7.7 frequency, factory discrimination and Sensitivity at 95. I will start using 12 kHz next time and see if that helps. On the good side, I did dig a couple of tokens, one being a 1863 Civil War token, 630-B-1A R4. It is in the lower right and looks like a 1863 IH on one side and the other side is B. Holcomb Dealer in Groceries and Stoneware, Mishawaka, Indiana. I have yet to research the bigger token which is a heads you win, tails you lose merchandising token.

Larry,nice to see how evident it is that you are enjoying yourself with the Deus.

Practical question.....What are the ground readings arround your QTH during such sessions, and do you trac ground, or stay at the default settings?

Love that civil war token.

I absolutely love hunting with the Deus but I have yet to find the secret to getting the depth I would expect or need in my ground. I have yet to try high power coin hunting but I did try relic mode (high power) hunting Civil War bullets and still had trouble hitting a 8" deep bullet. I am used to getting 12" on a one ounce chunk of lead.

The Ground Balance Phase varies from 83 to 93 in my ground with higher levels of mineralization. I have used tracking but if I linger too long over a deep target, tracking will track it out so I am using the pumping method more these days and re-GB every half hour or as needed. I never was a big fan of auto tracking for that reason.
