In the winter I can't go out metal detecting. So I hunt thrift stores, pawn shops, and roll hunt. Found 2 of these in a antique mall booth for $1 each. I see on the reverse it says in very tiny print 999. So I took a chance on them. I know its John Paul II and its probably commemorating the jubilee year 2000.but I can't find the maker or composition of metals. Also almost every image of John Paul II on a token I've found he is facing right mine he's facing left. Any ideas on where to look for the maker or composition.

His bust is facing front with his head facing his left. Never the less its opposite of the others I've seen

The "broken Image" below is clickable and works if you click on it but the preview doesnt show up....

Both of these places say ".999 Silver Medallion". Also, both have are made like a pendant and a spot for a chain. The one on worthpoint doesnt show the reverse but says it was sold in 2008. The one on ebay lacks a year on the reverse. What does yours say next to .999?

That worthpoint link mentions MILOR, Italy as the Hallmark. It has quite a bit of info but like I say it is a bit different since its designed for a chain. Could yours have had spot for a chain and later removed? I doubt thats the case though because yours has a date as if its a coin/token instead of a pendant. Too bad worthpoint doesn't show the reverse, it would clear up some of the curiosity about whether that one even has a date like yours.
But the hallmarks are the same and the composition is almost certainly .999 silver like the pendant on worthpoint.

No I believe it was intended to be a token round. It seems to be in its original blister. I also think you guys on the forum solved it. It's a round designed in milor Italy. And the used the design for a few 999 items like pendants and rounds.
