Im in the market for a new machine been using at pro for relic hunting. Is this machine a real complicated machine to use? Im just an ole country boy not a real tech savy guy. Would I be just as well off with mx sport on racer2?

I have now idea about the racer, but the deus can do so many different things. Different frequency, change things as you go. I am old country boy myself, and trust me its not that hard. You can probably run it in basic one and beat the crap out of MOST detectors. Its a little expensive, but well worth it in my opinion.

The Deus is as easy or as complicated as you want to make it, there is always lots of online Deus help at all levels out there for you 24 / 7.

It operates on the same principles as any other detector , just gives you a little more control over those principles.
If you read the manual and practice a little the learning curve is pretty short.
And then there is a bootcamp.

I agree 100% - you can make a lot of great finds just by using the Deus right out of the box with the factory programs.
Then once you get familiar with it's "language" - you can start getting into changing some of the settings if you like.

When you are ready to learn more about the Deus - Gary's video's are a must see !
Here's the link --- https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLC1D6ApPr0Zsxkqo6KjO6tujqIh_SUwoL

Good Luck !

thanks one more question is it ok to start with the basic one and then upgrade to the one with control pad?

Basic 1 is a factory program, you are thinking about a Deus Ws4 or Deus Ws5, some people call it the Deus lite.
It's a little confusing but a Deus Ws4 is a Deus Lite with Ws4 headphones, a Deus Ws5 is a Deus Lite with Ws5 headphones..........A Deus RC is the control unit, so a Deus Ws4 RC is a full Deus with Ws4 headphones.

In aswer to your question : yes a Deus Ws4 (Lite) is a great unit to get started with, I have the RC but just run the headphones only most of the time. The only thing you may miss is the larger LCD read out the RC unit offers. The Ws4 module can be mounted onto the stem, it has a small LDC read out.

I think you would be better off buying a used unit , either WS 4 or 5 , with the remote control than a Lite set-up without the remote. Even a unit with the remote control and wired headphones would be the better option. Not all adjustments are available with either of the headphone modules. The warranty is for 5 years on the most units so you can find good serviceable detectors without much risk that give you all the features.

I like to compare this question to playing a guitar. It can be as simple as playing a song using A, G & D or you can make it as complicated as Stairway to Heaven. How far do you wanna take it?

As far as the Basic compared to the Premium. Package. In my opinion it is more complicated to start with the Basic package. I'd rather give up the wireless phones first and get the module.

Fair comment

Im only working with 1000.00 to 1100.00 I wouldnt be happy with the basic unit im one of them people that likes to take it as far as I can go! You guys have been very helpful thanks

I know of one that would fit in this window but you will have to wait until your 3 weeks are up to contact you.

Find a way to get you one with the control. I saw one on eBay for about $1200.00 I am pretty sure. You want be happy with just the headphones, trust me. I already went down that road

I thought that had to do with me selling stuff? Im mmcc68803 on ebay you can contact me that way if you want / if it violates the forum forget about it. thanks

You should be able to buy a Deus with rod, coil, and remote, and hard wired headphones new for under $1200,, map price is 1230.

Remember you will not be buying any batteries for a while if you buy Deus--- so you do save a little over the long haul.

Batteries should last you 3 years with heavy use--- add up a bunch of AA batteries,, you will save a little.

had a guy offer one with the hard wire phones for 1099.00 new but my try to get a used machine with wireless ones.
