Torn between E-TRAC an V3

NO! NO! NO!

Buy the V3! I don't need any more hunting competition!

:twodetecting: :yikes:

E-Trac is a turn and go machine. Yes there are settings to help change performance. Get Andy's book with your purchase, good information. You should not be intimidated by the different tones, they are telling you what you want to hear. After you dig a few pocket full of targets of various types your brain will automatically recognize the good the bad and the iffy tones. Plus you have the FE and CO numbers to cross reference your tone with. You will most likely start digging targets based on tone after you have had your machine for awhile and have dug many targets.

Very easy to learn and you will not regret it, but you have to get out and use the machine and dig targets. Give it a good 100 hours of detecting and tell us how much you like it.

DD................

Absolutely most definately go for the ETrac mate!!
The V3 is just too complicated to set up. IMHO, so was the DFX. They had a chance to make the V3 simpler but missed it.
The ETrac can be made ultra fast if set up properly. I have mine running simply, fast, deep with unmissable audio tones.
Remember......the Safari only uses multi tones and if you don't like them, you're stuffed! Even the SE only has either 1 or Multi tones.
The ETrac with give you additional choices of 2 or 4 tones.

The V3 was a great concept but it just didn't have the impact of the ETrac.

The ET is much more simple to learn and to use. Even an inexperienced user can find masked targets with the ET.
The V3 can be kept simple but with so many things one can tweak it is easy to make it complicated. They are both good machines but for me the ET has an edge... so far. I do see a lot of potential in the V3. I have a buddy who does very well with his.

I had a chance to use a V-3 for three days after selling my E-trac. I liked the display on the V-3...it is a great machine.......but I want another E-trac. Best darned machine I have ever used in over 30 years of metal detecting.

Just wondered if you made a decision yet?
