Trade-in

Do any of the major metal detecting stores offer trade-ins? Say if in two years I wanted to trade my Safari for an E-Trac, and what ever price they thought was fair?

Jim

Try Richard, he is great to deal with. It is where I got my Safari and I was happy with the deal.

I think most of the majors do. At least Ive seen lots of used detectors on websites over the years.

Yep. Most do. But don't take less $$ for your trade than the average selling used price. And remember if it still has any warranty left that alone boosts value. I too may upgrade to an Etrac and will probably do a layaway over the winter, which most of the reputable dealers offer. There are some excellent dealers on the finds forum!

One thing you may want to consider before trading in is to list it in this site's classifieds. Safaris seem to hold their value pretty well from the prices I see asked (for that matter most higher end detectors do from what I can tell).

I talked to a few reputable dealers, even the one I purchased it from IN March of this year.
My detector is in great condition, has a Pro-Tech cover. The screen has a double cover. It has the laminated cover that covers the screen and it has the dust cover. You all know what the price is on a new Mine lab Safari with the warrant still active. I was given a price of about half of what it is worth.I was thinking of trading for a E-Tr ac, I think they are running neck and neck with trading in a car. Well ,I'm not ready to let mine go just yet for that kind of money pulse what you have to put on the other end. Then buy differ ant serious and all that, there is always something. I think I am going to work the hell out of this one until it pays for it's self. In a few years you guys will start to find pieces o
my MD in the fields over Jersey. Then I go for a new one. I can't see giving up a new machine for half price. Then putting another half to buy the new one, and once you get started it never seems to stop. I can verify that by looking at my Stripe Bass surf fishing equipment. Talk about the need for a twelve steep program.

Good hunting All;
GOD BLESS

Check ebay to see what used ones go for. Not what people ask, but the completed purchases. That's what you want to strive to get.

You'll get more selling it than trading it in. They don't come up used too often and when they do they go quick.
