I first b,ought a safari, then traded for an etrac. Sold the safari and trade money with etrac for a ctx with stock and 6 inch coil. Any advise on using appreciated. Never used a fbs machine.

Oh boy oh boy oh boy!! Congrats Tex! What HAVE you used? And for how long?

Was a whites man for over 20 yrs. Eagle ,xlt, andv3i. Last use was a Tom tuned cz3d. Have fisher 1235 for completion hunting.

Ok I think we covered this before....you're not a greenhorn. Do you hunt specifically for old coins? What types of sites?

Kinda a stock answer, but get Andy Sabisch's book on it and read it multiple times.
And congrats on the new machine!

Coin hunter on old homes and farms. Also have 6 inch coil

Dont get all wrapped up in numbers. Enable target trace and pin point trace. Enable the 'toggle' switch to toggle between two different programs. Pick a stock program, 'coin' ??, and use a backup of whatever you like, and stick with it for a few hunts. Use the 'toggle' switch to go back and forth on targets. Slow your sweep speed wayyyy down! In heavy trash sites use the 6", as it is far easier to pick out the good stuff from the trash. You might also load up a 4-tone combined audio program and see if you like it better than the 50 tones. To me it is an incredibly good machine but it was hell learning it for me. Pay some attention to Sube and a few other's postings about how to utilize the different functions.
