Traffic, dogs (their excrement and owners) and a 1905 S half dollar...

Must have been 30-40 dogs today at the "new" park (new to me)... tennis balls and toys whizzing by me constantly, followed by every make and model of dog - not to mention their droppings. Only a few clad, some junk, and this beauty:

About 6" down - sounded crisp and clean, landing on the smartscreen - pegged right, just down a bit from the corner - right where you'd think a half would hit

Advantage - West coast (clear, sunny and a bit windy, and about 58 degrees).

That is an awesome and rare coin find at a park, or anywhere for that matter!! Go back to that park and keep swinging around that doggy doo and you may end up with more barbers, injuns, and other old silver!

I know what you mean about putting up with the crap. I once hunted a park that had a constant flow of ducks and geese and there was goose poo everywhere. But it was an old area and lots of good old coins and that off set the miserable conditions. I will agree though dog crap is way worse than goose poo.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for their kind replies...

I've been using PVC overshoes (they slip over my boots) for quite a while now, so the dog dung, while still quite annoying, is a little less so (i.e. just wipe off as much as I can in the grass, or a puddle, then slip them off before getting back in the car).

I have only 4 hrs. of hunting in at this park... so I'll definitely be going back (probably tomorrow). Lots of potential (... if hunks o' silver like this are still there)!
