My wife's aunt passed away last week and the viewing was held at a satelite office in another town of the main funeral home. This satelite site is in a converted older home and I had an opportunity to visit with the funeral director who owns it. During our conversation about the age of this site I asked if he cared if I hunted the grounds sometime............to my surprise, he said go right ahead!!!
Mrs. Hawkeye struck first with the 1951-D Rosy, a little later with the three ringer bullet (don't know how that got there), and lastly the little heart charm that was fitting for the type of site we were hunting with the caption "FORGET ME NOT".........I got a few wheaties, the 1893 toasty Indian Cent, the 1901 V-nickel, and finally a real nice 1920 Merc.
I'm pretty sure this site has been hunted before due to the lack of wheaties found, plus I knew of a couple who lived in this town back in the 70's and 80's who hunted this area real hard and often............at least they left a few goodies for the "E".
