Turn Safari off or leave it on while digging target

Concerning Battery life, would it be better to turn the Safari off while digging a target
or leave it on. Maybe turning it off and on would not be good for the circuitry of the detector.
I don't know, I'm just asking since a Safari goes through a lot of batteries in one week.

Leave it on so you don't have to noise cancel everytime. I get the best battery life out of Duracells about 12 hrs. 24 for 9.99 at Home Depot. I appoligize if I gave HD's name seems I have seen it before. Glad you finally got your machine. HH :minelab:

hershey1,
My Safari will arrive in 8-10 days. Just asking many questions before it arrives here in North Idaho so I can get
a jump start with this machine. I also bought 40 Duracell's for $13 at Costco with an extra $2 coupon off the price.
That's a good price. Less than $3.00 for 12 hours worth. I will only use the best batteries for the Safari.
I forgot about the noise cancel each time. I'm so use to turning off my Omega when I know I will be
digging a deep target. I don't know why I do that because the Omega gets great battery life.
Anxiously awaiting for the Safari.

Regis- I get to hunt about 3 times a week and remove the battery pack between hunts. Have figured that each set of duracell batteries offers a good 14-15 hours of use. Naturally headphones are always used preserving battery life.

kschae4,
Good advice. I'll be getting my new Safari next Monday. I did buy a lot of Duracell Batteries. When you use the headphones with your Safari,
do you turn down the threshold from 12 to 9?

I just wanted to mention that Radio Shack is having (now) a sale on 'AA' Enercell Alkaline Batteries
for $9.99 (40-pack). That's half price.

Fleet Farm has AA's 48 for $9.99...excellent generic alkalines.....I use them in my trail cameras also...
