Two hunts, Two 1812 Buttons

The yellow/orange button might actually pre-date the War of 1812. I'm working on cleaning and preserving the other, a Light Artillery 2 button. Also bagged a VA half penny, 1840 half dime (tiny!), smashed thimble, a pair of musketballs, buckles, scale weights and even some mystery metal LOL

Does anyone else see a possible counterstamp on the 1/2 reverse over the word "dime"? I definitely see an "A" where the "I" would be...

Awesome relics recovered! Congrats!

Hard time making out what you are inquiring about…. I see an indent line covering a letter and possibly a smooshed letter of some type as a result of the indent….?
