The first one, does anyone have a problem where regardless of what sensitivity you have your detector set at, manual or semi-auto, the X-1 will sound off/false with barely any shaking of it? I haven't totally isolated the conditions, but I think humid or moist days my X-1 is pretty much useless. I'll be waving it back and forth and receive good hi-tone signals and falsing. I can hold it off the ground where I know there isn't a signal, and waving the wand, not even too roughly, and it sounds off in sinc with each wave/movement. Does anyone experience this? Of late it has been pretty bad and I'm wondering if I need to try and have it serviced. (figures, I'm 2 months past the warranty)
My 2nd question, do you switch back to manual sensitivty when you use it to pin point? I find when I have the sensitivity set that is just stable for my detecting coil, the X-1 is extremely unstable until I either lower the sensitivity or switch back to semi-auto. This is my 2nd year of detecting, primarily last year I did not mess around with manual sensitivity. This year I want to go for those deeper targets, but I'm finding it a pain in the back side to switch back and forth.
What do you all do? Does anyone have the same issues?
Thanks in advance for your feedback,
Jai
