We were able to get out today from about 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM. The day began with a light rain by the time we got to the site. We decided to see if we could wait it out... well, after about 20 mins. we decided to leave and go to a nearby gas station. By the time we got out of the gas station it had almost completely stopped raining so we decided to head back to the site.

Tip: if you don't have an Ace water proof console bag don't fret.... All you need is a plastic grocery bag.

Silver jewlery????

Your expertise please: Does silver have a habit of turning green when you dig it out of the ground and then wash it with water????? I'm not sure if the silver object in the 5th photo is actually silver. I'm gonna try and get it tested by one of my Dad's friends who owns a coin shop.

Finally, the last pic shows our finds over the last two days.... well, 1 day for me. Big pile is my Dads, second biggest are my 1 day totals, and 3rd are all the badly eroded zincolns. Not a bad ratio from good finds to bad finds.

Great hunting. You and yur Dad are making memories to last your life time. You should make sure he beats you most of the time even though he may not have. Pays off later. HH to both of you. Jack in Austin

Nice hunt guys Lots of great finds!!

Alright!:clapping:Nice hunt!:detecting:Congrats on the good finds! Yeah, I always just use a sandwich bag for control box cover when needed. Silver oxidizes black, copper oxidizes green. Happy Hunting!:)

I find siler plated items with green on them from time to time. Silver usually just turns black or stays nice and shiny in my experience. Great hunt.

12 wheats in one day is a bunch.
