UMC Co. shell

Donnelli2005

New member
While out detecting this afternoon I dug an old UMC Co. Shotgun cap missing its paper shell. Looking up the markings it was made between 1902-1910. And in 1911 they merged with Remington.

Thats an oldie...You might consider a shell collection there is alot of different kinds and can make a neat display.

Those are very interesting finds and some people like to collect them. If you hunt the woods enough you are bound to come across some of the solid brass shotgun shells too.

I don't know anything about shells, but that's cool that it's that old and has some history to it. HH, Nancy

Congrats on your find. They are actually called headstamps. There are quite a few that are very collectable. Here is a site that will help you on future id's.
