Unsure About F-70 Purchase Because.......

I think the biggest factor in whether the F-70 is going to be stellar or so-so is the level of ground mineralization. Tough mineralization seems to hamper it with its stock coil. And most negative comments regarding the unit are from users in high mineralization areas. Now the 11" DD coil may negate that factor so it would be great if a F-70 user in high mineral area could offer their actual field experience.
Ronk, you never said what the mineralization level is where you plan to detect. What area do you live in?

My ground is about average to moderate in some areas but there are quite a bit of hot rocks in some areas and other areas there are none to few.I live in central western Arkansas almost on the Oklahoma border.I still haven't heard from anyone if the F70 will handle hot rocks or how to deal with hot rocks using an F70. I have narrowed down my decision between a T2/O8 and F70.The F70 does have some features that I think I would like but so does the other 2 mentioned. Like I said in another post,I am in no big hurry. If someone could convince me why I should choose one over the other then that would also be something to think about.

I don't think anyone ( Me included) should ever buy a detector their unsure they really want.

Confidence in your equipment is half the battle in detecting. You have to believe in what your detecting with.

Ronk, if you need convincing that you ought to buy the F70, then probably you shouldn't buy it. It's been said many times on these forums that what is a good machine to one person, is not necessarily good to another. It's not just soil conditions and hot rocks and such....most higher range detectors from reputable manufacturers will handle soil conditions if, as many here have said, the detector is set up properly, and how well the detector handles the conditions often depends on the operator. I believe that to enjoy using a detector and to do well with a detector, it has to be "right" for you, not someone else. If a detector has operating features which are desired by the purchaser, is well-balanced and physically comfortable to use and is within the price range which the purchaser is prepared to meet, then it is going a long way to being the "right" detector for many, but perhaps not all. Sure, we can pick up hints and opinions from others, and we can read up on the features of a given machine, and these help in our decision-making process. But the ultimate decisions whould be the purchaser's..because it is the purchaser who needs to be happy with the machine, not the person who recommended it. Good luck with your decisions. Of the three detectors you mentioned, all are very good, and all will serve you well, so long as you're happy with the one you get. HH, Pete.

I have a F-70-Omega-8000-CZ-70 you can click on my post and research, I have done all kinds of depth test, the deepest of these 3 is the CZ-70, I also have a few more detectors out of all the detectors I have or have used you should look into a Minelab Safari or SE-Pro the SE is what I use most now for good reason, Depth and ID at depth. if you can't handle a Minelab (to weak) and are a coin shooter only, go for the Omega not near as noisy as the f-70 and Id's screw caps and things you don't want to dig better than the F-70, as to the hot rocks, I have never found one with any of the above mentioned detectors. The only detectors that don't suffer from EMI is the Minelabs, and you will encounter EMI at a lot of places. DO ALOT of research so you don't have detectors remorse when you find out that you bought the wrong detector I don't suffer from suffer from it because I have every detector that I have purchased in the last 30 years. HH and remember Research and also remember it will take you several months to get very good with what ever detector you decide to purchase and remember to try and purchase your detector from one of our many Sponsors.
