Update on today’s Gold Ring

CT Todd

Well-known member
The ring Turns out to be Colonial for sure with the maker of the ring identified.
Colonial Gold Unbelievable
Information from Nancy Barnaby Janeliunas quoted here
The ring as a pretty significant find. Its a documented well known NYC silversmith. Will copy this info here so its not buried under someone's comment.......... Cornelias Wynkoop is the maker of the ring. His mark is documented and there is quite a bit of history on him and his family. THey are well known Dutch silversmiths from Albany NY but their workshop was in NYC. He started silversmithing in 1715 in his father's shop and then he took the shop over. This ring is probably towards the mid to later part of his career. So mid 1700s range.
