Update on update from XP

Looks like we have a little bit more waiting to do. "A test phase will take place in October and November 2016, and then, we will be able to announce a launch date."

it looks to me like the new coils will be mostly good for gold detecting and maybe good for those civil war sites that have so much mineralization. Otherwise I don't see it being good for the general metal detecting community. but we will have to see what the test phase users will have to tell us.

The way I understood it it was going to be released at the rally, im sorry for posting that thread wish I would have minded my own business . Im very let down to say the least.

Dang it!!! Now I suppose I am going to have to buy one.
I thought MI6 was something else...

Well if current prices are any indication, I would guess 400 to 500 on the coils. Certainly not much less.

I think what's significant here is what ISN'T in the list. I don't see anything about improved target ID at depth. I would have liked to see that. But it does appear to include some interesting and useful things. I really like my Garrett Carrot but I'm interested in that pinpointer.

As a beach detectorist or mainly anyway i was hoping for a multi freq coil .
I have been told that they cannot find a way that isn't covered by Minelab so for me i will stay with Minelab .
I sold my Deus a little while ago because i wasn't using it , at least i dont have to buy another . Unless !

Hope all goes well for you XP users and if some prove me wrong then maybe one day i will consider a V4 Deus but it has got to match the ET and Explorer and realistically it wont on the salt wet.
Not only that i would have liked to see a new coil with all the old and new frequencies on it .
Too much money all that kit .

The way i treat probes on the beach it would need armour plate so that would be out.

yep target ID is very poor on my test garden

Kind of a let down wonder what the impact will bring to table

sounds like it will NEVER be possible to achieve the vaunted improvement to 'ID at depth'....which is no surprise electronically
for a VLF...

that's what XP is saying here....ie, 'we can give you a few more adjustments....here's your bone'...now get out and buy
our new pinpointer and coil and start looking for gold!

True mate. But some items has limitation and we should expect it, anyway... so.

I love my Deus so don't get upset, I feel with all advancements made in almost 30 years, see no reason to not have deep, accurate ID in good ground. I feel since they don't use it in Europe, then not important to them?

JMHO

Wonder what happened to I enhanced salt mode? Iheard somewhere an individual got to see the Deus on beach and how great it worked so what happened to that?

With all that said I love my Deus and for all but salt beaches it great!

I used my XP on the beach and was finding earring backs at 4"and 5". I used the Gold Field program but you need to put it in salt mode. It don't do good in reg. ground mode. I love Deus for the beach, don't know why anyone would said it won't work unless they didn't put it in salt mode.
