That's as good as it gets in Connecticut in mid January and I wanted to get out in the water so bad I could hardly stand it!!

Off to the beach ready to hunt, but a westerly breeze had stirred up the water so that it would be a struggle to get out there today!!

When I am hunting I don't want my enjoyment ruined by struggle so I had to put it off to another day.(Maybe tomorrow!!)

GL&HH Friends,

CJ

I don't quite have the patience for water hunts, grass fields is my main expertise. The beach shot sure looks alive.. oj in bc

Winds that blow either way up or down the Long Island Sound can cause rough water.

The more wind the rougher it gets!

This was just bad enough to make hunting a struggle because the waves would keep moving me and my equipment, especially my sifter, around.

Perfectly calm days such as I posted about recently are great for hunting, but rare.

I usually have to settle for at least a little wave action.

Thanks for your reply Friend,

CJ

The water went from the shot above to this over night!

This AM it is almost like a reflecting pool and guess who has a house full of company coming and can't go hunting!

Maybe tomorrow!

I live in hope!!

GL&HH All,

CJ

PS Did I tell you how much I am enjoying the little Water Proof Fuji?

Not much of that lately. Ever hunt around those break walls? I've done well on them on different occasions.... Seems like the goodes get sweep over and get caught up.

If I live long enough George there won't be much of this swimming area that will escape my hunting.

Every time I carefully search just about any part of the half-mile of water I find something worth keeping!

I haven't tried the walls yet though.

Thanks for the tip!

Nice picture! It sure looks cold though, the water I mean. We are in the upper 30;s right now and it feels like a heat wave.

Hi Royal,

When I went out a few days ago I checked the water temp and it's 41F now.

The air temps were in the mid 30sF range and by layering I stayed comfy enough for a couple of hours of hunting.

I'm looking forward to next time and will surely post about the event!!

Best to You and Yours,

CJ
