:usaflag: Recently I Sold Some Gold Rings And Bought A White's Dual Field!! :detecting:

Excellent Update....Thank You

Joe

I wrote this to a friend who prefers the Excal.

I like the Excal I have too, but it is limited for depth as compared to the PI machines and once an area has been picked over very well so the finds are few and deep the Excal is not enough.

The beach nearby stopped producing for my Excal, but keeps anteing up for my PI machines.

I found this one along with 32 beer bottle caps, a couple of silver bracelets, hair pins, a small silver ring, a toe ring and a few coins (all clad maybe a dollars worth) in three hours of perfect tide this PM using the DF!

GL&HH Friend,

I am thinking a PI would drive me BONKERS in the lakes around MI. A LOT of small iron targets. Any thoughts? Thank you!!

You are probably right about the machine!

There are a few machines out there that will do the trick though.

I haven't hunted fresh water so I'll have to defer to other experts!

Sorry,

CJ

yeah thanks CJ i want to get a PI detector maybe next year & am now tending towards the DF so i"m looking forward to to all your great finds with the DF.

It would be interesting to compare the larger mono on the LS against the DF coil, but I suspect the DF coil may be handier and I have read that the larger mono is harder to keep tuned and pin point with in the water!
CJ

Cupajo, I believe I read the opposite about the 12x14" mono, that it's more stable and easier to pinpoint and hits smaller chains and gold???

I would think the radio interference that you have might prevent the large mono from working well in your area? I suppose the location could make a big difference with stability using a large coil like that, but some Florida hunters seem to prefer it over the stock coil or the 8" mono.

If the 8" mono is more stable overall in the water, I might just get the 12x14 for the wet sand and get max coverage on the worked out areas.

Anyone want to chime in on this one?

Thanks!
