Use caution when buying outside of the Whites Family...ebay follow up.

Without bringing the 6 pages of thread back, I figured a quick follow up was needed on the 29 V3's on ebay. The guy now has 6 negative feedback and from the amount of bidders, he has scammed dozens of unsuspecting fellow detectorist.

Paypal in all likely hood will refund these people their money, but it may take months for some. Take caution when buying used and outside the "Whites Family of Dealers".

Call White's with the serial number and they will check it.

Are they not receiving there V3's or are they counterfeit ?? .....the feedbacks looks like there not Reciving them at all

The specific seller now has 9 negative feedback from people who purchased v3's and did not receive them. This sure is a learning lesson for me, I did not buy one, but sure make me aware.

Come on people. This was a obviously a scam the minute it was listed on eBay. If it is too good to be true, it is. Especially on eBay. There are no fake V3 anythings being shipped to anyone. Nothing is going to be shipped, ever. I am amazed at the number of people still naively asking questions about these auctions on the forums. There are deals(rarely these days) to be found on eBay, but more and more crime is being committed to the point that I do not use eBay other than with low dollar items. Shop at your own risk. I am of the belief that eBay is one of the largest criminal organizations in the US or the world. There are thousands of fraudulent auctions/sales everyday. From sellers bidding up their own auctions to people using fake or stolen eBay and Paypal accounts. Maybe millions a day. eBay gets a cut of every fraudulent auction listing. They get a cut out of every fraudulent sale and they get a cut of the payment since they own Paypal. They have no incentive to fix the fraud since they make money off of it. And if you have been around long enough you would know that they have made it harder and harder to follow who is bidding on auctions or in some cases allowing it to go completely private and hidden. This guy wouldn't provide serial numbers, or take pictures. The info provided was even less than vague. He had bad feedback. The communication was horrible. There was obvious shill bidding going on in every single auction. This seller was actually pretty inept when you think about it. He didn't put much effort into the lie and yet people were falling all over themselves to get one so cheap. The seller could have even stated in the auction that this was a scam and I think posters here would have been asking others if they thought it really was a scam. Come on people.

Well you don't gotta rub salt in the wound buddy. I actually talked to an ebay representative before I bid and they indicated that that particular sellers funds would be placed on hold until delivery confirmation/positive feedback. So I bid with the confidence that if I didn't get it or it was fake then I just had to wait until ebay payed me back.

Nothing like a good solid 16 negatives to make your feedback look a little troubled. I am sure he is still going to ship them out, just give him more time....
