Used Kellyco detectors

Has anyone ever bought any of the used Kellyco detectors that come with no warranty?

Did they work out well?

Is the price negotiable?

The reason that I'm asking is that I've used their chat feature and received no response.

Once no rep was available, I followed the procedure and asked my questions. I included my name and 2 email addresses. No response at all.

*I realize it'd be better to call but generally when I have time (during business hours), I'm hooked up at work. I'm using the chat feature on their site to "multitask" during the day (when I am in phone/internet service).

Also- is a Minelab E Trac @ $1200 with no warranty really worth it vs spending the extra little bit for a brand new with warranty? (without knowing the person that had owned it and used it)

I spoke with Ralph @ Sun Ray the other day. He was BY FAR THE BEST person I've spoke with on the phone, regarding metal detectors (Particularly the E Trac and Xterra 705)

In the scenario I was considering- I was looking at the used E Trac for sale @ Kellyco's site. It is basically $1200 and new is $1500 (20%).

At that price range- the extra 20% for a brand new machine with factory warranty is worth it to me when compared to a 20% discount on a machine that does not have a warranty. $300 is a lot of money but not as much as $1200 and an issue (all in my opinion and nothing more).

*Some repairs seem like they can get spendy if there is an issue.

If I was ensured to get that price for a used detector- I'd buy one, use it 3 yrs and a day, re-sell it for the 20% drop and buy a new detector. $100 a yr depreciation (28 cents a day) isn't bad at all!!!

I did get a Kellyco rep this morning and she was very helpful. She give me the info I needed.

I have Minelab Xterra 705 that is waiting for me to pickup tomorrow in Rapid City SD.

I was nosing around on the used E Trac and would have bought it if it had been a bargain. (and/or I knew the individual that had owned it along with the history of the machine. IE- no troubles or issues in the past)

Eventually I'll upgrade to an E Trac but I'll break in with the 705. (First Detector I've ever bought).

*I'll buy my E Trac from Ralph @ Sun Ray. I really appreciate the time, knowledge and help he provided me.

no way I'd pay 1200 for a used etrac...........look around there are places to get NEW etracs for a bit over $1200. And a 3 yr old etrac would never bring 1200 bucks

are these detectors they take in trades or ones that someone bought and then returned. if its the latter i believe i'd want to now why it was returned.

Please excuse the previous message from me I did not know that this was not allowed, I could not see anyway to edit or delete it, again my apologies.

I have dealt with a couple of dealers of small shops and have gotten better deals and better quality gifts than the big box stores offer. Just my opinion and experience.
