Used the "asphalt" mode on my E-trac today

I was hunting a triangle shaped corner lot this afternoon.
I got a clear signal, and brought up a chunk of paving asphalt that read 12-44.
I couldn't figure it out, so I broke it in two, hmmm, nothing.
finally I turned it over and the answer was revealed. A coin stuck into the hot black mixture who knows how many years ago.
Took it home and with the wifes paring knife, (don't tell her), I revealed a date of 1953-D
kind of an unusual find. :)

The first time Ive heard someone broke a piece of asphalt to get a coin
good effort and cool find
paring knives can be replaced but stories like these....

I'll guarantee it's not MORE than 58 years old...:)

Cool find. I've seen one posted one other time, but still a very nifty find! Thanks for the pictures, and your "paring knife" secret is safe with me!
