Using a GPS with Google Map Overlays

There are some great posts here in the new forum. The overlay is a great feature, so make sure you bookmark that post!

But you can take it one step further. Once you have completed all of the steps in the overlay process, simply plot the coordinates into your handheld GPS.

This can be done a few ways.

One way is to enter the coordinates into the GPS manually. The other is to use a program such as Easy GPS which allows you to enter many coordinates on your computer and then downloading them to your GPS using a USB or serial connection. You can download Easy GPS by clicking here. It is FREE.

You can find the coordinates on the bottom of the Google Earth Page. make sure you enter your coordinates using the same GIS system coordinates.
