It kinda makes you think twice about getting the headphones but I really like mine and worth the money. The old pricing for the V gave us a $100 break for getting the headphones with the unit but now it seems that you can add them later if you want with no penalty. I can see the good and bad in each way.
 
I'm with you on the headphones being worth it. I did use my corded ones this last week and even though they worked very well....not having that dang cord has turned out to be a godsend in comfort. (Having a battery life issue, but thinking now it is actually with the rechargeables themselves.)

Once used, kinda hard to go back.
 
The POINT: No price increase for the V3i model!
