I can’t remember where it was on the Simplex but the iron/non ferrous default tone break on Legend 2 is 20. Having nickels be 25/26 on Legend 2 just 5 target IDs away from iron would not work real well IMHO.

Check out page 32 of the Nokta Impact manual. Some of the programs use up to VID 15 for iron, others use 40, plus the ViDs vary according to frequency. Using a dime with VID 15 iron, frequency 5 shows VID 60, frequency 15 shows 78, 20 shows 80. The ones that use 40 for iron shows freq 5 is 78, 15 is 85 and frequency gives a VID of 86. The Deus is similar. Fisher has different numbers between the F75 and the Gold Bug Pro due to cutoffs for iron. Whites uses minus number for iron, from -95 to 0. There is no standardization amongst manufacturers and even with the same manufacturer. Buy what you want and learn the numbers, in my opinion. Or if you are like me and have multiple different detectors, carry a copper penny, a zinc one, a nickel, a dime and a quarter in you pocket so you can see what VID will cover them.
