VERY early morning hunt to clear my head, got 4 silvers

Yesterday my grandpa who had terminal brain cancer passed away in his sleep. He was loved by all and will be severely missed by his friends and family. Heaven gained an angel yesterday when he passed away. I was very close to him and was pretty tore up, the only thing I knew to do today to clear my head was to get out alone and swing the coil. I think Grandpa was smiling down on me today as I had a great early morning hunt. I started at 6:45am and was done by 9:15am, the humidity is brutal today!

I went back to the lot where they tore down an old home, I hunted the front half 3 weeks ago and they finally got the back half cleaned up, it was overgrown bad. The funeral home next door to it, bought it and is making a parking lot, so everything I found was saved from being paved over forever. The first hunt gave up a silver washington, masonic token/penny. Some wheats and a chinese cash coin.

The back yard was even better. I got a 1944 merc, 2 rosies, and a sterling ring, I thought it was odd to find 4 silver, and no wheats. But hardly upset I wasn't finding any, then bam, 3 wheats right in a row. I got the three other piano items all in a 3 foot area. I wonder what they are and if maybe they were hooked together at one time? the smallest one says washington DC and is dated 1906....any help on these would be appreciated!

It was a great short hunt and I really needed it, Rest in piece gramps, love ya and will miss ya!

Sorry to hear about your Grandfather. The loss of a loved one that we hold so close is a tough thing to bear. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Matthew 5:4 reads

Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

I'm sorry about your Grandfather. I'm 67 and a Grandpa myself.
Great and interesting finds especially those Piano items.
Congratulations.

Terry you know how I feel and what we know as the truth will be comforting

1 Thessalonians 4
13 But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve, as do the rest who have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus.
15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, and remain until the coming of the Lord, shall not precede those who have fallen asleep.
16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first.
17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and thus we shall always be with the Lord.
18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.

Sorry to hear about grandpa Terry.......Metal detecting is like that for me too. It really keeps my mind at ease with all the going ons of everyday. It sure is therepeutic. It makes you concentrate when you put the phones on and the coil to the ground. HH Joe

Sorry to hear about the loss of a loved one but glad he passed peacefully. Nice finds and maybe there will be a special place in you collection for them.

Let me know when you're going to visit Pennsylvania and we'll go knock on some doors. "You probably have your area about "hunted out".
