Very nice 1st find! I finally found my very 1st buffalo nickle, In my 3rd year of detecting! Wow, I bet you'll be making some great finds soon!!!

I just dig about 10 nicks today from pounded areas. The T2 sure loves them!
 
A buffalo only 2 inches deep. Just goes to show old stuff can still be shallow. Was the ground hard in that area like an old road bed maybe?

No, the ground wasn't hard at all. It was about two feet from the trunk of a pecan tree. I was honestly surprised at how shallow it was as well......
