very hard soil gives up silver

got out to a local park yesterday morning for about a 3 hour hunt. Ground was very dry and digging was almost impossible. I was trying out a few new things with the E-trac, I tried that channel 11 thing but found no difference.
then I went back in the stock coin program and I did not look at my FE/CO numbers at all...I went strictly by sound and depth. I did dig alot more trash this way, but I really learned alot more about my tones.
4 wheats, 1 IH, 2 old canadian pennies, and a 1950 silver washington. the silver I almost did not dig, the high pitch tone was only from one way...but was so clear I had to see what was there at 6". I'm glad I dug.

WELL DONE:thumbup:

I have tried the tone and no number thing for short periods of time but prefer to see numbers and use the tones when deciding to dig (DUH)

yeh I have been practicing listening to the tones, and this was just an experiment for me to help tone my tones! I am fairly confident I am learning the difference between rusty iron and a good target, but them pulltabs come in at 12-36to39 the same as some keepers I found. I still don't know how a modern pulltab gets down 6" and I am pulling wheats 5 ft away at 6"? Hope your trip went well Eva...talk to ya soon.

Congratulations on the finds gunwolf! Thanks for the pictures.

Congrats on your nice finds. I always dig those 1 way good signals specially if the area is extremely trashy. Those are the ones that everyone else will pass up.

Sweet looking finds...........the ground here is so dry and hard, I'm praying for some RAIN,,,,,,,,,,,,,Hawk.
