Vx3 Question

New member
I am getting false signals from my Vx3 some strong and repeatable. After I dig, there seems to be nothing there. I used the deep silver program on my Vx3 and ground balance over a clean spot before use.. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Most likely your just running too hot.... turn down some of your sensitivities and try that.

What coil and gains are you running?
If you are new to the V3i, try running the deep silver in 3 frequency.

I am using the 950 coil on the Vx3, 2.5kHz freq., 5Hz band filter, Rx. 10, A.M. 70, Disc. 80 (preset program).

Some of the the signals are good one way but fom a differrent angle they sounds like trash or iron.

I don't know how deep the targets are. I think you are wishing the hits are good targets and they are not. I'm in Texas right now and can hit a dime both ways and from more than one angle with just a 3 frequency hi pro. Move around the target and if you don't get hits from more than one angle they are probably falses.

No I am not wishing the hit are good targets. As I stated, some sound good one way and from another angle they sound like trash or iron. I thought may it a good target mixed with trash or iron.

Again... Running too hot and Make sure you have a GOOD ground balance.

Sounds like you're running hot like john said, 10 and 80 is pretty high for a lot of areas. I'd back off some and see how it goes. Even going a few points lower on the sens you'd be surprised how deep they go and much easier they are to use, I usually push the limits but I hate an overly chatty machine, just find a good median.

Adjusting sensitivity for stability should be your first adjustment right after a ground balance on a hunting spot you are not familiar with IMHO.

Today I will try hunting in correlate mode and experiment with less sensitivity because there seem to be a lot of trash in the area. I did find a 1943 mercury dime but it was a shallow find. Thanks for all the help.
