Waiting for It... XP Deus that is

Waiting for a XP deus.
I ordered a XP Deus with WS-5 headphones, a 9 inch coil, and mi6 pinpointer.
Now all I have to do is learn another machine... any advise on this machine would help:)

Get the Deus Handbook by Andy Sabisch and there are a ton of XP deus tutorials on youtube .If you don't find a subject covered by a XP tutorial, it doesn't exist or your not searching for your solution correctly. Gary B. has done an outstanding job in putting a video together on everything imaginable for the Deus. The only thing I can think of to get you started in the right direction is to run your audio response at 3, instead of 4 or 5 at first and listen to and dig the distinguished signals and learn what it's telling you. It will quicken your learning curve as to how to interpret and Identify what good signals sound like apart from iron signals and other junk. It will give you a better perspective on what to look for in the faint signals when you start ramping up your audio response later on down the road. Calabash Digger has very informative videos out there. Congratulations and many finds with your new machine...

It says in the manual (English version available free on-line) don't keep changing the Reactivity setting. I run it at "2" or "2.5" most times. Lower numbers can lose small targets and higher numbers will affect depth. And you will need to adjust sweep speed. So just learn it first before making too many adjustments.

Waiting on the brown truck once again, and watching youtube videos on the xp deus. I hope to learn a few things before it gets here next week. :)

Don't make it hard on yourself. Start in one of the factory programs and do some surface sweep tests to get an idea of what you are listening for. Raise the coil up till the signal almost vanishes and that is the sound of great things you will come to love. There are a million adjustments but I promise that it will find treasure right out of the box. Good luck and let us know what you think.

Yes, just keep it simple till you get use to the machine - that's what most people told me - so I just ran in Basic 1 for the first few weeks - made lots of real nice finds !
The Deus has many outstanding features and it's a total pleasure to swing !

Good Hunting !

Can’t see the point of running any machine in its basic mode , read the manual, read Andys book and get it cranked up...learn on the job

Simple start is, run sensitivity too high, get it chattering while you swing, reduce sensitivity until it stops, then raise it 1 or 2 .
Do this everytime you enter a site regardless of which pre installed programme you use or one you make yourself .
You have to set any metal detector on its edge ..
Don’t be scared, jump in with both feet .... if it all goes to pot, just turn it off, everything you’ve messed about with will reset back........ and start again

It’s great fun so enjoy yourself

I don't want to get in there and Prove I am the Master of Disaster I just want to go out and learn a new machine and make it work right...
