Be careful Jimmy. Chargers are specific to the batteries you are using. Mixing the wrong charger and batteries is an invitation for trouble like fire, explosion. Alkaline AA should not be charged but NiMH is a good choice for most applications. I also use LiPo's for some uses but they are the most dangerous. A commom replacement for an 8 battery charger are two 4 cell chargers that are pretty cheap and sometimes comes free with the batteries from Amazon. $20 will get you a charger and 8 AA NiMH.
