It has been a very dry last few weeks (besides the usual clad and a few Sterling 925 items including rings and chain/pendants) so I was becoming somewhat discouraged but remaining committed.
With the recent mini nor'easter that rolled through here Thurs/Fri, the hunters have been out in force. I have even ventured out during the storm, at 6pm low tide Friday to a 5' cut beach area (this had just happened and I was the only one there detecting) only to come up empty and then find out that on the very same night, 3 miles down at the eastern end of the same beach, some long time hunters were literally picking up coins from the 1800's right off the sand plus getting some since old gold...ARGGGGGHHHHH....(you know where I'll be next nor'easter)...
Well today I hit a not so popular (with the hunters) beach and immediately knew there was going to be action. Signals started immediately. After recovering about 10 coins, you could see that the target locations were in an almost perfect line parallel to the surf - about 15 feet up from the low tide line. I was scooping every 5-10 steps. Within a 50 foot line I had recovered the 3 rings and tons of clad ($8.17) you can see in the photos. Rings are all 925 (where's the gold???) BUT the two dainty ones have interesting stones and the heavier one has a large pearl (wife likes the pearl one best). One of the rings has a gorgeous light purple or lavender stone about one caret - don't know if it's colored diamond or gemstone but the setting looks to be very old in style...the other with center stone and sides (i really mangled that one up) not sure yet if it's real (just ordered diamond/gemstone tester). Sorry guys - don't have a macro camera for the good closeups.
