Water hunting with the Deus

Waterdog

Well-known member
I have the water kit for the deus and wanted to see what frequency would be better for hunting in the water. I have the HF 9x5 coil and the 9 inch LF coil.
Which coil do you think would be better for fresh water rivers and lakes ? Decisions, Decisions...

I don't water hunt but I have not seen anything that specifically says one frequency is better in the water. On land when the soil is damp they say not to use the higher freq's (18KHz or 25KHz on the X-35 coil), and others say the higher freq's pick up the small aluminum pieces. So you will have to decide what your site holds and just try it out to see what is working best.

I have it all set up, ready to try it out in the morning. I have it set up with the fishing pole attached to the top of the shaft so the antenna is out of the water, on the HF 9x5 coil.
I know I may find some small stuff, but I have found some small necklaces with it in the parks and the water may prove to be as good:)
